Contemporary Cabbageware Workshop – Glasgow
Thursday 23 February, 6–8pm
Torrisdale Street Studios
Glasgow G42
Sliding scale from £25
6 places available
Inspired by the trend for plates and bowls in the shape of cabbage or lettuce leaves which began in the 18th century, this workshop will show participants how to make contemporary versions of this beloved style, using leaves from their own houseplants, veg boxes or back gardens and basic handbuilding skills.
I will guide you through the design process as well as the cutting, shaping and decorating. All pieces will be clear glazed after the bisque firing to ensure they are functional as well as ornamental. Participants will be notified when their pieces are ready for pick up.
The workshop is designed for all skill levels – beginners are more than welcome!
Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
Sliding scale:
Precarious/Unemployed/Struggling: £25
